So once your I-600 is approved and you receive your I-797 (Notice of Action) in the mail, this typically means that your visa petition has been forwarded to the National Visa Center. The file is then logged in and out, and you can call and check on its progress. I called yesterday, and we are officially NVC IN!
The operator I spoke with was very nice, friendly and helpful. She said that our file was just received Tuesday, June 1. She also said to give them until Friday afternoon to process it and then call back and check in. She also gave me our case number (the SEO number), as all we had before was our USCIS receipt number. She was able to look up our file with Tanna's name and date of birth--Tanna is the official petitioner--and Isaac's Korean name and date of birth. She was sooooo sweet. When I gave her Tanna's DOB, she was like, "Oh, you have a birthday coming up--HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" When I told her it was actually my husband who had a birthday soon, she said, "Well, tell him I said happy birthday!"
Wasn't that so nice? I thought so!
Here is more information on contacting the NVC.
Yippee!!! Everything is moving on along!!
