Aunt Robin and Uncle Steven returned from the Czech Republic last week. They'd been on a mission trip there, and on their way home had a brief layover in Atlanta Tuesday evening. So I took Isaac down to the airport for a quick visit.
I am so glad it worked out because there was a bit of drama with their return. In fact, they were supposed to come home on Monday, but their flight from Prague was canceled. So they were rescheduled for Tuesday. Well, things didn't go so well on Tuesday, either. It turns out that my sister's last name was misspelled--just by one letter, so it was close--on her ticket. She pointed this out as soon as she saw it, but apparently the office people and/or travel agent said not to worry about it, that it wasn't a big deal. Well, guess what--it IS a big deal, especially when you are traveling internationally. I guess "close" doesn't cut it. She was interrogated twice, frisked a couple of times and had her luggage searched, too. So by the time she and Steven made it to Atlanta, they were exhausted and ready to be home. But they had plenty of smiles for their new nephew!
Here's Isaac with Aunt Robin--enjoying his cool new toy from the Czech Republic.
With Uncle Steven--believe it or not, I didn't notice the background of this photo until people pointed it out on Facebook. ha!
In other news from last week ...
Earlier that day, Mrs. Holly and Adam came by to bring a delicious dinner (THANK YOU!) and for a visit.
Adam and Kate enjoying some chicken nuggets. Yum!
Adam smiling with Mrs. Holly (Holly's husband, Steve, and I were in the same journalism program--you know, "J School"--back in the day.)
Aunt Cindy in Spain sent this cool puzzle of "God's Great Big World." (That is from Miss PattyCake, and Kate frequently calls any picture of the earth or map, etc., "God's Great Big World." It is really sweet.) Kate couldn't wait to open it and to put it together (with a little help)--muchas gracias! :o)
Speaking of puzzles, Mrs. Diana and Jamie visited later in the week and helped Kate and Isaac work this fun puzzle Jasper got Kate for her birthday. Kate loves this puzzle and can work it all by herself--over and over again. ;o) What a big girl!
All smiles!
Group shot of the kids--can't believe they sat still for a second. LOL! Isaac is holding one of the little trucks from Jamie--thank you so much!
Just a cute pic of the kids--they are really enjoying each other, and we are so thankful.
Whew--what a week! So much fun! Here's Isaac sleeping on our bed one day last week. He has now transitioned to his crib and is doing very well. YAY!
Fun! I can't wait to meet the newest member of your family. He's doing soooo good.
