As you may have experienced or heard, when a new sibling enters the family, many folks suggest an exchange of gifts between (or among, depending on how many kids you have) the new child and the older child(ren). So as not to break any parenting rules (hahaha!), we were prepared for this age-old tradition.
In fact, the blabla elephants (pictured above) that were gifted were purchased back in April just for this special gift-giving opportunity. My Scoutmob discount came in very handy! (BTW, I LOVE me some Scoutmob. It is awesome and the best site of those daily deals IMO because you are not obligated to buy ahead. You just use it if and when you need it. You should totally check it out if it is available in your city.)
Back to the gifts ... I loved these elephants because there was a boy and a girl version, so the gifts coordinated. Not that that really matters, but I liked it that way. Just a few days before Isaac came home, I decided to add to the gifts. So they also each received a thermos-type water bottle.
While I suppose they both liked their presents--Isaac didn't really say much--Kate was more excited about the gift exchange than Isaac was. LOL! Her elephant gets to sleep in her big-girl bed each night, and she loves those water bottles! I think Isaac will grow to love his elephant as well--he's already shared many Kodak moments with the fellow. :o)
The water bottles hanging in the kitchen--Kate is all about hanging things from knobs throughout the house.
We did that too when Joel came home from Korea...we gave our 2 older ones gifts that Joel supposedly brought to them from Korea. =)
ReplyDeleteI have heard of that and think it's a great idea! Love bla bla dolls! i want to get our little one a boogaloo but i can't decide which one...
