NYC: The Metropolitan Museum of Art

"We saw priceless works of art!" --Ferris Bueller

I was so excited when I realized that our trip to New York started on the first full weekend of the month. If you are a Bank of America customer, then you probably know what that means ... time to enjoy museums and other attractions for free via BOA's Museums On Us program! Yippppeeeeeeeeeeee!

I originally was more ambitious and thought we would try to hit more venues over the weekend, but that didn't really happen. We did get to visit The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and we enjoyed it very much!

Tanna met up with us Sunday afternoon, and we walked to The Met. Kate fell asleep in the stroller on the way over, so he carried her, stroller and all, up the stairs. We only had a few hours before the museum closed, so we tried to prioritize what we saw. We could have spent all day in there and then some--that place is huuuuuuge. I took waaaaaaay too many photos (surprise!), but I'll just share a fraction of them here. ;o)

In the Egyptian section. Kate wasn't too impressed with it. LOL!

Can you hear The Bangles singing? Yeah, I'm a dork, but I don't care!

Do you like how I framed my picture of this dude?

LOVE this.

Info

I thought this piece of Korean art was particularly impressive.

A Picasso exhibition had opened recently.

And another

Now ... for some Van Gogh ...

Love the irises. Did you know that the iris is the Tennessee state flower? My mother had irises that belonged to her grandmother. Still has a few, too.
