These days, Cameron is in the spotlight for being a Christian author and speaker--and I admire him for being so outspoken about his faith. Hollywood sure could use a lot more people like him, IMO!
I met Kirk Cameron in 2002 (I think) at a book-signing event in Johnson City, Tennessee. My sister went with me. I was visiting home one weekend--and it happened to be a weekend that he was there, too! We also heard his friend and colleague Ray Comfort speak at a local church. Good stuff.
A couple of years later, I heard both Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort speak together at an event here in Atlanta. I admit--at first, they seem like an unlikely pair to be working together, but they make some excellent points and are passionate in their pursuit of evangelism. I think it's wonderful. The world would be a better place if all Christians had just a fraction of their passion for sharing the Truth of God's Word. They have an incredible ministry--The Way of the Master--that includes television and radio programs. Check it out!
We just previewed at work the new movie coming from the guys that made "Facing the Giants." Kirk is in their new movie called "Fireproof." I didn't get to see it, but the people who did said it was great--a tear jerker.
