Bible Presentation Sunday

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. --Psalm 119:105

Sunday was a special day at church, as Kate was presented with a new Bible. Last week, we received a letter from the director of the preschool ministry informing us of the event. "Presenting our children with their own Bibles is a cherished and powerful tradition ...," the letter read. "We are excited about this opportunity for putting God's Word in the hands (and hearts and minds) of our children." The children's ministry presents Bibles to kids at three points in their lives--as 2-year-olds, as kindergartners and as late fourth-graders. (These are all transition points for them within the department of children and family ministry.)

We are thankful for this gift and new addition to Kate's library. It is our desire and prayer that God's Word will be a source of strength, comfort and wisdom for Kate all the days of her life. May she hide its words in her heart ... and may she proclaim it, knowing that it will not return void.

So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. --Isaiah 55:11

Kate receives her Bible from Ms. Jan, director of preschool ministry.

I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. --Psalm 119:11

On our way out, we picked up a pre-printed shoe box to fill for Operation Christmas Child. The children's ministry is participating in OCC, so we wanted Kate to fill one for church even though we are doing it at home, too. :o) After all, more boxes = more children touched by this amazing outreach and reached with the love of Jesus. To God be the glory!

  1. What a cherished book that will be in Kate's collection. Thanks for sharing the pictures and family memories. She looks gorgeous as always :) BTW...Is she wearing Gymbo? I might be forced to switch from my beloved Carter's since once you get to the 3T size it is slim pickens. Thank goodness Chloe is still in 24months/2T. Although I suspect from her height she might graduate to the next size by next Spring or Summer.

  2. Thanks! Yes, that is a Gymbo dress from last year that I bought on sale for her to wear this year. :o) Gotta love their markdowns, especially when you can combine them with a coupon.
