The wedding yesterday was fantastic. One of my favorite things about it--besides the bride and groom ... and all the friends we saw there--was the fabulous cupcake wedding cake. Oh my goodness, it was soooooo adorable. And so tasty, too!
After we took a few pre-wedding photos, Burt asked if we'd like to help him with something. Who says no to a groom on his wedding day? Of course, we were all glad to help him set up the wedding cake.
We congregated over in the reception hall to delicately line up the cupcakes on the cool stand Burt constructed and Jennifer decorated. Didn't it turn out cute? I told him he could rent it out for parties and such.
There was plenty of help, and it was no time before most all the cupcakes were assembled and ready to be smiled at ... and then eaten!
The top layer featured the big cupcake that Burt is holding--he made it himself. (The one on the table is his backup.) We had talked about the big cupcake cake pan (my sister has one and used it for Bekah's birthday cake last year), and Burt said he was going to use it for his wedding cake. It turned out so cute!
Here's Burt placing the final touches--the Korean bride and groom figures--on the top. We have some similar ones in our bedroom. By the way, how many grooms do you know who are fixing and arranging their wedding cake so it is just perfect ... about an hour before their wedding ceremony? That's Burt! He is a foodie, no doubt! He actually asked us to get snapshots of all the food at the reception. I hope I got pictures of all the dishes--there were a lot. The food was all Korean, so I wasn't sure what I was photographing on some things. hahaha! The guests sure enjoyed eating at the reception, that's for sure!
Anyway, back to the cake--here is the finished product. I just love it. I took a ton of photos!
One more pic--a little better view of the bride and groom
At the reception--Burt and Jennifer cutting the cake. Jennifer had already changed into her hanbok. It was so pretty!
And a taste! The cupcakes were so yummy--I ate two in no time!
Happy wedding! (More pics coming soon.)
Yum. I want a cupcake now.
