Riley's County Fair Birthday Party

The Birthday Girl--I can't believe she is 6 years old!

Riley turned 6 earlier this month, but we celebrated with a county fair-themed party at her house back in May. Robin decided to hold the festivities a few weeks early because Riley's actual birthday was during our beach vacation. Plus, having the party while school was still in session meant more classmates might be available (and not on vacation themselves). :o) It was a wonderful celebration--everyone had a great time!

I have found that several blog viewers come here after searching for various birthday party themes. Likewise, I am one to search the Internet and blogosphere looking for party ideas. So ... I am including lots of photos of the decor and food and such ... as well as family pics for the relatives. Enjoy!

Come one! Come all! Here is the invitation--it was designed to look like a ticket and turned out really cute. Robin framed one to use as part of the party decorations.

Some of Riley's artwork helped set the scene--too cute!

My sister Robin is going on another mission trip to the Czech Republic next month. Riley decided to collect balls for the mission team to take to the children there.

Party favors

The spread ... so colorful!

Suckers and candy apples. Who knew candy apples were so hard to make? Carrie and Robin were up well after midnight the night before preparing them.

Robin borrowed this popcorn machine from work--it was a hit! She had little bags for all of the kids to put their popcorn in. So fun!

Cake Walk--ready for walkers!

And here are the cakes. Robin and the girls made them so everyone would win one at the cake walk.

Riley *loves* party games. Party goers played a few games to earn tickets--then, there were prizes for who collected the most tickets. I have some photos, but I am not sure if the parents want pics of their kids on the Internet, so I'll just stick with pics of family for now. :o) The kiddos loved collecting tickets, though! It was a lot of fun!

Kate and Anna-Claire had so much fun in the play house.

Boo!

The kids loved playing on the swing set, too.

Kate got a balloon fix, that's for sure! (She has a balloon obsession going on lately.)

OK, I just love these photo banners. This one is from Pottery Barn Kids. Here's Robin, Riley and Rebekah smiling from the fair!

Riley, Rebekah and Steven have a turn with the banner.

Greetings from the fair!

  6. HI! My sister ordered the photo banner (and some of the other party decorations) from Pottery Barn Kids. Awhile back, PBK had several carnival/fair-themed party items. You may be able to catch some on clearance or on eBay. Happy birthday to your son!

  7. I am having a County Fair party for my son's 1st b-day April 2010. I have collected most of the items from Potterybarn Kids, but I still need more placemats (with the ferris wheel) and the rollercoaster table runner. If anyone has these and you want to sell. Please e-mail me at rose221@msn.com. Thanks!
