Happy Easter 2010

Christ the Lord is risen today!

Happy Easter! We've had a nice day today--hope you have, too. Here is our Easter Sunday in photos ...

The Easter Bunny stopped by--look what he left for Kate. She caught a glimpse of her basket before we left for church this morning.

Looks like he left some goodies for Tanna and me as well. Thank you, Easter Bunny! (Bok! Bok!)

Carrots are all gone.

We stopped for a little photo shoot on our way to church.

I saw these beautiful flowers in an office-park area recently, and I thought they'd be a pretty background for Easter pics.

Kate didn't do too bad--and Tanna was pretty cooperative, too. LOL!

Holding her pink Bible and wearing a bracelet from Aunt Robin

The beautiful floral cross in front of the church. Kate kept calling it a "Christmas Cross." :o) There is another one in front of a nearby church, and Kate loved looking at it also as we drove by today.

Rocks at the base of the cross.

Family photo in front of the cross--thanks, Nancy, for taking our pic. (This one was actually taken after church--that's why the lighting is different.) I don't know if you can see the peacock feathers, but today churchgoers received peacock feathers, which are an old representation of Christ's Resurrection. Our pastor has a 10-year tradition of giving the congregation gifts like this with a special meaning on Easter Sunday. Previous gifts have included sand dollars, coins, etc.

I ran into my friend Lori--we haven't seen each other in years. We worked together at Samaritan's Purse in Boone, NC. She used to live in ATL and is visiting this week. We have plans to meet up later in the week--we didn't realize we'd see each other at church this morning. :o) What a delightful surprise!

One more pic at home before changing out of our church clothes--it was HOT today! Quite a difference from three years ago (the Easter I was pregnant with Kate), when we had record lows.

After a casual lunch, we got into some Easter goodies.

Tanna could not wait to open these Jelly Belly jellybeans!

I love this little bunny. Kate wore a similar outfit to this one last Easter. I had bought these pants in two sizes, and she is wearing a pretty white shirt that Jasper got her for her birthday last year. (Thank you!)

Getting ready to open her chocolate bunny

It was a nice, low-key day. Church was full, which is wonderful. The service was moving--I especially loved the music and the conclusion of the service with the Hallelujah chorus. We are thankful to worship a risen Savior. Thank You, Lord!

This afternoon, we hung out around the house. Kate and I took a walk around the neighborhood, and Tanna fixed a delicious ham dinner with green beans, potatoes, rolls and kimchee. (Well, the kimchee is store-bought, and I don't eat it--but he had some today.) I made some brownies, which we enjoyed with ice cream as we watched the 11 o'clock news a little while ago.

Happy Easter! XOXO
