A fun new event is taking place next weekend--you should totally check it out! It's the Shoe Box Derby 5K Run and Walk, presented by the Gwinnett Braves and Operation Christmas Child. It's a 5K--but it's so much more! There also will be a fun run, a home-made shoe box derby, a silent auction for both kids and adults, inflatables, vendors and more fun than a barrel of monkeys! The silent auction will benefit Operation Christmas Child.
Come on out, even if you are not a runner (or a walker)--there is something for everyone. The event is taking place Saturday, April 17, at the Gwinnett Braves Stadium. A gift-filled shoe box collection is taking place for Operation Christmas Child--so get a head start on your boxes this year and bring them next weekend. There's a goal to collect 2,000 boxes--let's help them reach it!
Go to http://www.theshoeboxderby5k.com for more information on how to participate in race-day events and the Operation Christmas Child Web site to learn how to pack a shoe box for a child in need.
Hope to see you there!
