Don't you just love the smiley-face hand logo? I do!
Johnson City has a wonderful children's museum! (I think I even like it better than the one here in Atlanta.) It's called the Hands On! Museum--and what a grand time we had there on Friday. Kate and I were in Tennessee while Tanna attended a conference in New Orleans. Anna-Claire was spending the day with us, so we picked up Grammy and headed to town.
I hadn't been to the Hands On! Museum in years, and I was looking forward to taking the girls. They thoroughly enjoyed it! We got a parking spot right by the door (score!), and it looked like we had the place to ourselves at first. That was nice, being the only ones there for a little while. (A large school group soon showed up. :o)) Mom and I had fun watching the girls run from activity to activity. They had a ball!
When we headed downstairs to check out more fun stuff, we saw a museum lady being interviewed by the local news. Cool! Guess what we found out later? Just the night before, the city commission had unanimously approved to donate city-owned property to the museum so it can build a new facility close to the library. How cool is that? (Hands On! is currently housed in old downtown buildings that have been renovated for use as a children's museum. This new location will be great for a lot of reasons--one being better parking. Yay!)
Just arriving and ready to play!
Shopping in the grocery store
Kate's favorite thing was the playground. She is obsessed with playgrounds lately and points them out everywhere.
With Grammy in front of Noah's Ark
This just in ... delivering the nightly news in the television studio
Anna-Claire gives us the forecast. Did you know it's going to be 800 degrees in Texas? Talk about global warming!
In surgery ...
A-C and Grammy
Downstairs with Grammy on the tractor. See Kate's wet pants, socks and shoes? I turned around, and she had jumped in the little pond/stream, shoes and all! Puddles and water are too tempting for her right now. LOL!
Preparing for takeoff! The girls loved climbing in the plane.
Working on a little project in the art studio
So cute! I love how Kate now calls A-C "Anna-Claire Bear" like the rest of us. :o)
Group shot with the timer--this is harder than it looks, folks! LOL!
Guess who fell asleep on the way home?
OMG. Didn't know abt this place. We'd have to check it out next time we are up in that area.
ReplyDeleteThis is so cool. You need to start a list of all the places you guys go. Mostly so I can remember them when Ethan is old enough to start enjoying this stuff. :)
