Operation Christmas Child Family Day in Atlanta

Operation Christmas Child will host its third-annual Family Day fun on MONDAY, DEC. 7, at the Operation Christmas Child Processing Center in the metro-Atlanta area. Family Day is an interactive tour for families with children 12 and younger. Normally, to volunteer in the PC, kids must be 13 or older; Family Day gives younger children an opportunity to experience the World’s Largest Christmas Project and to learn about the joy of giving. This is a great opportunity for church groups, home school groups, school field trips and, of course, your family!

Family Day 2009 Highlights
  • Interactive performance of the Journey Of A Shoe Box by participants
  • Visit the Spiritual Impact map
  • Play processing relay games
  • Observe an actual processing demonstration
  • Experience a simulated distribution in Panama and sample one of the new discipleship lessons that an actual shoe box recipients will receive
  • Enjoy treats and goodies at the celebration station
  • Optional Station (not part of 2-hour tour): A screening of the new Veggie Tales movie, Saint Nicholas, and participants will hear the Gospel message at the end. We will host this station at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m., and 7 p.m.

If you have attended before, there will be lots of new activities. There are a couple ways you can be involved:
  1. Call to reserve a spot for your family or group.
  2. Let your friends, family, and church members know of this opportunity.
  3. Come serve at one of the stations the children will see. Volunteer times are available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. or 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Information for Atlanta Family Day: Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Each tour will last two hours. Groups of 50 people will be scheduled every 30 minutes, with the last group scheduled at 6 p.m. To sign up or to ask questions, call 770-777-9342.
