Miss PattyCake and the Restraining Order

Yes, we went to see Miss PattyCake again. Yes, it was our second Miss PattyCake concert in less than two weeks. No, we have not been served with a restraining order. At least not yet.

A Miss PattyCake concert was on the calendar at Woodstock First Baptist. This is a bit of a drive for us, but we were willing to make it for our beloved Miss PattyCake. Plus, Kristi and Amelia were going to be driving down from Knoxville, and we planned to meet them there for some Miss PattyCake fun!

If you have never been to the First Baptist Church of Woodstock, then please allow me to explain something to you. It is its own city. I don't know if it has its own zip code, but perhaps the governing board (deacons? elders?) should look into the idea. It is huge, and if you don't know your way around, then it would be very easy to get lost on the campus. Or to find the exact location of the Miss PattyCake concert.

You can see where this is going, so I will spare you the details. We eventually made it to the concert, though we were a little late. This may sound bad, but it actually made me feel a little better that we weren't the only ones who got lost trying to find the concert in the church.

Our tardiness did not matter, of course, to two precious little girls who were thrilled to see Miss PattyCake and Mr. Stan the Handyman present "Good Morning, Day." That's the name of the show we saw--and the name of the latest and greatest DVD available for your viewing pleasure. Kate had seen the show before (and already had the DVD), but she still enjoyed the concert. Amelia was entranced. It was a delight to see her face light up during the performance. I loved watching her watch Miss PattyCake and clap and dance to the songs, etc. What a sweetheart!

After the show, Kristi and I bought a few Miss PattyCake things and took our place in line to meet and greet Miss PattyCake. Oh yeah--I should mention that our place in line was at the very end. Our little girls were very patient, though, especially for 2-year-olds. They did rather well, in my humble opinion, and it was late. And Amelia hadn't had any dinner yet. (Kate and I had a CFA snack on our drive up to Woodstock.)

Anyway, long story short ... we were just about to meet Miss PattyCake when some other folks jumped in front of us. It wouldn't have been a big deal except that they talked for quite some time. And then some more. And, well, 2-year-olds who have been waiting in line for an hour or longer are just about done. Not to mention the no-dinner thing.

All ended well, though, when Miss PattyCake soon greeted Amelia and Kate and posed for some photos. Mr. Stan the Handyman had been talking to them in line. We were given some balloons and then started our long trek back to our cars. We were very glad to have found them on our first attempt. LOL! It was then time for a quick stop at a nearby McDonald's before driving back to Atlanta. Kate probably didn't get to sleep until about 11 that night. Whew--what a day!

As Kristi said, our evening was quite an ordeal. But it was worth it to see Miss PattyCake one last time before we are accused of stalking her. hahaha! Seriously, though, Miss PattyCake has an awesome outreach to preschoolers, and we are thankful for her ministry. Kate loves her DVDs, and it is sweet to see how she is learning about Jesus by watching and listening. I love how she knows some of the songs already--well, parts of the songs.

Thanks again, Miss PattyCake. It may have been an ordeal, but it was worth it! :o)

In our seats and watching the show. Amelia is loving it!

You just couldn't keep this girl out of the aisles.

Having a blast!

After the show, we took a few photos on stage.
