Kristi, that title is just for you! Doesn't "ameliorate" work so well with "Amelia"? :o) And I know you are loving the alliteration.
Kate's friend Amelia has been in Atlanta the last few days, and she's been staying with us while her parents attend a Society of Professional Journalists conference here in the ATL. I am a former SPJ member myself, and it is in the by-laws for all members and former members to provide childcare for fellow reporters, editors and the like. In case you didn't know.
Sorry that this blog does not currently follow Associated Press style or the inverted-pyramid format. Please don't tell!
Anyway, the girls and I have been living it up! Kate has loved having a friend over for two days in a row. She and Amelia have played very well together--they truly enjoy each other's company.
Here are some photos from Thursday and Friday:
Amelia *loves* the Little People school bus, and Kate enjoyed pushing her on the bus--just like old times.
Amelia enjoyed this ladybug toy, too! She especially appreciated the music it plays.
I was feeding the girls a snack and went into the kitchen for a sec to fix some applesauce. When I came back out, Amelia was fast asleep.
Amelia loves to be held--Kate wants to go, go, go these days and doesn't like to sit still. It's so interesting how different we are, even from such a young age.
Amelia wathes "Yo Gabba Gabba." I recorded some shows for her to watch. It was hilarious--she started bouncing and "dancing" as soon as the opening music started. LOL! It was funny because Kate showed very little interest in "Yo Gabba Gabba," and Amelia couldn't have cared less about Kate's beloved "Little People" videos.
Happy family! Amelia was so happy to see her Mommy and Daddy when they came to pick her up.
On Friday morning, the girls and I went to music class. Kate was all over the place.
Amelia had a lot of fun--she really enjoys music. So cute.
The teacher passed out fun scarves to use during one song. How neat!
Getting ready to leave ...
Kristi told me that Friday was the first time Amelia has ridden in a car without her Mommy or Daddy. What an honor that it was with me! :o) (This photo is actually from Amelia's second car ride without a parent present--I took it as we were leaving music class.)
In just a few minutes, she was asleep ... and stayed that way for over an hour. So sweet!
Later, we went to Five Guys for some burgers. Yummmmm ...
There's Tanna and Kate walking in. She loves walking everywhere these days.
It was a nice evening, so we sat outside.
Amelia enjoys her fries. Kate loves the Five Guys fries, too.
Thanks for dinner, guys!
Friends are so fun! I clicked on the "old times" post. I can't believe how much Kate has grown since June! She's a weed!!
ReplyDeleteKaren...so cute.
ReplyDeleteKate will have great girlfriends growing up. You are doing such a fabulous job getting her exposed to great friendships and adventure. Also, love that you capture it.
I saw someone wearing a dress as a top :) Wow, I sure do wish my little girl had as many friends her age as your Kate. What a great difference between those two pics. Kate is growing so fast. I wish my Chloe used her Little People firetruck push toy as early as your Kate. Instead she waited until she turned one, but can't get enough of it now :) Have fun with Amelia.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet! Kate and Amelia look like they had a great time! How fun of you to take them to music class! :) It looks like you and Kate showed Amelia a very nice time while she was in ATL. Five Guys-Yum! :)
