Kate had her first McDonald's Happy Meal last weekend. It was an impromptu visit, as I hadn't packed her lunch for our outing--but she sure enjoyed her Chicken McNuggets and fries. More than that, she enjoyed sitting in a McDonald's highchair next to Anna-Claire.
Aren't those trays cute? Johnny just loved them--he said they reminded him of the McDonald's of our youth. :o)
Anna-Claire liked the trays, too. She kept pointing to all of the characters.

Do you all remember the McDonald's coloring calendars that came out each year back in the day? Oh, we *loved* those when we were growing up. My Mom always bought a bunch each year, and we often gave them as gifts. I saw a vintage one over at Steve and Holly's last year, and I was so jealous. ;o)
We also had the McDonald's glasses with the different characters as well as the plates (the old-school ones). Each of us had a different season as our personal plate. Cindy's was Winter, Robin's was Summer, mine was Spring, and Johnny's was Fall. Oh, what fun McDonald's memories!
Now that she has had her first Happy Meal experience at Mickey D's she will be able to spot those Golden Arches a mile away! You'll soon forget what a real hamburger taste like! :) Great McDonald's memories- thanks for sharing. Kate and Anna-Claire look adorable.

ReplyDeleteSo cute! You know the Alicante McDonald's has those high chairs too! Must be a global thing! I thought they were so adorable that I planned to take Joanna there for her birthday for the cute picture it would make! I think that pic is on fbook. BLY

I guess lynchburg gets the cruddy highchairs. They are nasty and gray with no trays. I do remember the color calendars. We had them and collected the glasses too!
