Tulane Alumni Crawfish Boil

Go Green Wave!

Every year around this time, the Tulane Club of Atlanta--which is basically an area alumni group--holds a big crawfish boil. Tanna looks forward to this event every year! However, the last few years, we haven't been able to attend for various reasons (it's a such busy time of the year). He was so excited this year because the crawfish boil happened to fall on a weekend when he didn't have to work ... and we were going to be in town! Yay!

Friends Burt, David, Don and Celine joined in the fun. Kate and I stopped by for a little while. Tanna consumed a whopping five trays of crawfish! I guess he wanted to get his money's worth! He says he could have eaten more ("two more trays ... easily!"), but the law of diminishing returns was starting to set in. I think for next year they should have a timed crawfish-eating competition and some nice door prizes (such as official university apparel and tickets to some sporting events). I do believe Tanna would be a top competitor!

This year's event was nice--the weather was great, and there was a record crowd! The athletic director and the football coach both spoke. It was interesting to hear them speak and to think of all that the university has been through in the last few years. In fact, Tanna's major program (mechanical engineering) is no longer offered. :o(

As Kate and I left for naptime, we got a photo with Bob Toledo, the football coach!

Here are a few more pics:
Tanna showing Kate the ropes. He wanted her to wear her lobster bib--they kinda look like crawfish, right?

Celine and Don take a break to pose for a picture!

David's first tray. David ran around France with us a few years back when we were all there for Don and Celine's wedding.

Burt and Tanna. I can never get a decent photo of Burt--he always does something goofy for the camera. Can you believe these two guys are doctors?!

OK, enough of the crawfish nonsense--on to the baby photos!

She's smiling and laughing at Tanna in this one.

Mommy and Baby :o)

Fun family time!

  1. I don't think I have ever eaten crawfish...I should try it. I really wish Norah and Kate could play together - I think they would have fun!
