The girls had a blast playing with Kate's new kitchen. Riley organized all of her kitchen goodies and whipped up some yummy breakfast.
Ready to eat!
Rebekah took Kate for a ride on the infamous Little People school bus. Yes, Kate STILL loves that thing!
Aunt Robin and Uncle Steven brought a ton of Bekah and Riley's Little People stuff that they had outgrown. (This is just a fraction of the LP loot!) Kate is in Little People heaven and plays with her new toys all the time! THANK YOU!!
Bekah and Riley watching a video in Kate's room. I gave the girls several scrapbook pages that I had put together for them a few years back. They are really getting into their scrapbooks; it is really sweet to see how much they enjoy and appreciate the pages. I think scrapbooking (or blogging, etc.) is important and worth every bit of time that goes into it. (Remember, it doesn't have to be perfect.)
That afternoon, we hit North Point Mall. Santa brought Rebekah and Riley American Girl dolls, so a visit to the AG store was a priority.
We ate lunch at the food court. This lady spilt milk all over the place when she was dumping her tray. I could not believe that she did not even attempt to clean up one drop! Not only that, but also she did not even go tell a mall employee or anyone what happened! Really, Lady, are you that special? (It's not like she had 10 kids with her or anything, either.) How would you like it if I came to your house, spilt milk all over the place and then just walked away like nothing happened? Can you tell this got me all worked up? Of course, Tanna was like, "Did you pray for her, Honey?" Ummmmm ... well, no, as a matter of fact, I didn't. But, yes, I know I should (even though I just wanted to be mad).
After we shopped a little, it was time for an ice cream break!
That milk shake sure was delicious! For $5, it better have been! I was sure to drink every drop, though I did stop short of licking the inside of the cup. (We were out in public, after all.) I was still pretty sick and snotty this weekend--you can see how raw my nose was.
Back at home, Uncle Steven reads to Kate.
On Sunday, Robin and I hit the Georgia Aquarium to check out the Titanic exhibit. My family has a long history of special interest in the Titanic. (This dates back to way before the James Cameron movie.) In fact, I did my senior research paper (in 1992) on the Titanic. It was titled "If Only ..." I still have it if you want to read it--which I am sure you do! LOL! But I think my sisters have been even more intersted in the Titanic. This is actually the third special Titanic exhibit we have been to--Robin and I went to one in Memphis in 1997, and Robin, Cindy, Johnny and I went to another one in Boston in 1998. I think those dates are about right. Robin even has some memoriablia signed by a Titanic survivor. (She is hard-core, people.)
Another one of those self-portrait attempts.
Getting some burgers at Five Guys--we love that place!
Waiting for our burgers. Kate loves the fries!
Riley's ready with the ketchup.
Love birds.
Back at the ranch ... more scrapbook pages with Rebekah and Riley.
Hugs from Aunt Robin
The girls brought Kate some early Valentine goodies. :o)
Skaggs family pic--what a great weekend! Thanks for coming!
My great grandfathers nephew or cousin (not sure which it was), Thomas Andrews, designed the Titanic. Also, my great grandfather was one of many Belfast workers at the Harland and Wolf shipyards who helped to build it. My father grew up looking at a great photo of all of the workers standing in front of the Titanic. Just thought you might get a kick out of that :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a FUN visit...you are quite the hostess! I LOVE Kate's new kitchen and her room is SO SO cute!!! Can't wait to see the rest...
ReplyDeleteLooks like you all had a great visit! Visiting Aunt Bebe and Uncle Tanna and Kate in ATL is always a highlight in our house, I'm sure the Skaggs will agree! ;)
ReplyDeletebly!
