Any TRUE Chick-fil-A fan has been there. It is a special place, indeed. In fact, Tanna took me there for a Valentine's Day meal when we were engaged. And I was thrilled. (I am not making that up!)
It is the original Chick-fil-A Dwarf House, and it is located in Hapeville, Georgia, near the ATL airport. (It is also located close to the metro area's 24-hour post office! So if you ever need to make a post office or CFA run in the middle of the night, you know where to go. Unless it's Sunday, of course.)
What exactly is a Dwarf House? From the CFA Web site: "These full-service restaurants offer an extensive menu and provide customers a choice of table service, walk-up counter service, or a drive-thru window. Twelve Chick-fil-A Dwarf House restaurants currently operate in metro Atlanta."
And from Wikipedia: "The Chick-fil-A Dwarf Houses are a full-service variation of the typical Chick-fil-A restaurant. In addition to the full-service dining area, Dwarf Houses also have the normal fast-food service area as well as a drive-through. The menu at a Dwarf House is similar to the normal menu. However, surprising to many loyal supporters, the menu at a Chick-fil-A Dwarf House contains an option to buy a steakburger and/or hamburger. The menu also features deep-fried pie in flavors such as peach, apple, and sweet potato.
"One notable difference at the Chick-fil-A Dwarf House is a 'Dwarf-sized' front door that children and some small adults can use to enter.
"The original Dwarf House in Hapeville, Georgia, is open 24 hours a day, and closes at 4 a.m. Sunday morning and re-opens at 6 a.m. on Monday. Known by the locals as 'The Dwarf,' it is a popular meeting spot for a breakfast, lunch, or late-night meal. Topping the list of must-haves at the original Dwarf House is the Hot Brown, which the menu board once described as 'delicious, different!' The original Dwarf House has the atmosphere that all the other Dwarf Houses aspire to. It is located across the street from a Ford plant that produced the last Ford Taurus, which Truett Cathy bought as a thank you to the Ford plant employees for decades of loyal business."
There you go! You must visit this wonderful place and experience it firsthand to get a true feel for it.
When Mom was visiting from Tennessee last month, we ate at the Hapeville Dwarf House on our way to the airport for her return trip. Last year when she visited, we ate there the day she arrived, on our way home from the airport. I love to eat at the Dwarf House. And you will, too!

We were very lucky to get this great booth. There is often a wait for the full-service area. But the wait is worth it, no question!

One of the servers brought Kate some crackers while we waited for our lunch. Wasn't that sweet? Another employee brought her a few kid's meal toys. Sooooo nice!

Lunch is served! I think Kate is reaching for a nugget or some fries. I had some veggies--green beans, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese. Delish!

Here is the "Dwarf" door. Is that even PC these days? Just wondering ...

Kate loved the little door.

Group shot in front of the sign. I don't think Mom was quite ready for the snap. Or Kate, for that matter. ;o)

And just for fun ... here's a pic of Kate and Grammy @ the Dwarf House last year.

Let's do lunch!
