OK, I am still catching up on this here blog ... and on life. And I couldn't *not* post about some out-of-town friends we saw over the holidays. It's always fun to see old friends--and new ones, too! (Remember that song? Make new friends ... but keep the old. One is silver ... and the other gold. We used to sing that in Brownies.) Anyway, if you are ever in our area, be sure to look us up. We'd love to get together!

In late December, we met the Mounts family--in town from Virginia Beach--for dinner at a local Thai restaurant. What? Me? Eat at a Thai restaurant? Call Ripley's ... because ... yes, I did! And it wasn't bad!

Tanna, Kate, Eli & Jason
Tanna and Jason went to med school together.

Ava, Sonya and me

Fun @ the table with their granddad, who treated us to dinner. (Thanks again!)

Here's a nice family photo with Jason's Dad (he lives here in the ATL) in front of the Budweiser sign.

Another quick snap before heading home for bedtime.

A few days later--on Jan. 1--we caught up with the Maxwells, who were visiting from Florida. We met them up at Rebecca's Mom's place (in Alpharetta, I think). We had a nice lunch (thank you!) and enjoyed visiting while the kiddos played.

Shawn, Rebecca, Chapman and Colin

So thrilled! Ha!

This is another attempt at getting a photo of the three kids together. Kate is intrigued by the hammer.

Tool time! Kate was fascinated with all of the "boy" toys.

Learning the tricks of the trade

Another family pic. Tanna knows Shawn and Rebecca from his days at Georgia Tech and CCF (campus ministry). BTW, Rebecca--in addition to being on staff at a large church--is my Mary Kay supplier ... in case you need anything. She can mail straight to you!
_______
As someone who knows how valuable time is when visiting loved ones on the road, we truly appreciate the time friends make to visit with us when they are in town. Thanks for making the effort--we know it's not always easy (especially with kiddos). Come back and see us!

OMG. I can't believe how grown Shawn and Rebecca's kids are.
