We went hog wild for opening day at The Pink Pig today! We met some friends at Lenox this morning to kick off the season in style. Quite a celebration was going on--the Atlanta radio station Kicks 101.5 was there with a booth and giveaways--in addition to a balloon artist, a caricature artist, and lots of costumed kiddos. (The little ones could ride for free today if they wore their Halloween getups.) As we went through the line for our first ride, an official pig lady said that we could ride as many times as we wanted today as long as there wasn't a line. Wasn't that nice? We thought so--so we rode twice. Before we left--as you can see from the above photo--Priscilla herself made an appearance! We were sure to shop for a fun souvenir to go with the stickers we got as we exited. (Kind of like after you vote--after you ride The Pink Pig, you get a cool sticker.) We bought a Christmas ornament last year, so this year "Kate" picked out some pig ears and a snout! (Snort, snort!)
This little piggie went to market ...
In addition to her pig top, Kate is sporting her "piggie" tails for the big day. She also brought along her pink pig Pacimal.

Kate wore her rooster attire for the first ride. Kids wearing their Halloween costumes rode for free today.

Jasper and Jane are ready to roll!

Connor and Julie--let's make this pig fly!

Pearls before swine ...
Look at these cuties. This is a rare shot, folks--all three are sitting still for a sec.
Connor started walking like a rockstar just the other day. He wanted to go, go, go! What a big boy! Here he is with his Dad, Rob.
These folks get the "above and beyond" award.
For her second ride, Kate was down to just one piggie on the top of her head--she lost one sometime during the first ride or shortly thereafter. On our second go, she dropped her pink pig paci along the way, but one of the operators retrieved it for us. Thank you!
We had so much fun--we were tickled pink!

ReplyDeleteSo cute. I wish we would have made it looks like it was a blast!
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to say hi and it was nice to meet you. Are you going to Heather's blog party? I can't this time, but hopefully another time.
ReplyDeleteI have the exact same sweater as your friend Julie. In fact, I'm wearing it in my Wicked post. Small world, fashion-wise.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like so much fun! I am going to have to take my son this weekend while we are in ATL for the party! :)
ReplyDeleteThis looks like so much fun! We can't wait to ride in a few weeks! Kate's hair looks so cute in her piggy tails-it is getting so long! Love her BYC!
ReplyDeletebly!
Karen, What you failed to mention in your post is that those 2 children about 7 and 9 dressed in head to toe pink.... were boys!!! Someone should be calling DEFAX because that is abuse! When we were leaving, they were trying to take the gear off and mom, also dressed in head to toe pink, ears and snout included, insisted they keep the entire costume on to go through the mall!
ReplyDeleteWe had such a blast! Although, I must admit, I don't think you'll actually catch anyone in our family proudly wearing pink head-to-toe with fake snouts. Glad someone, will, though, as it makes for fun conversations. You captured Connor in his new glory. He will.not.stop.walking...
ReplyDeleteI love love love Kate's pig tails!
ReplyDeleteI like Tanna's purse!
