I got an e-mail yesterday that Toot and Puddle have a new television series! Congratulations, guys! The show premieres at 7 p.m. this Sunday on Noggin, and after that--according the the Web site--it will be airing at 5 p.m. every day. For more info on the new program, click here. For more Toot and Puddle background, click here.

If you aren't familiar with Toot and Puddle, let me tell you about these little pigs. They live in a delightful little place called Woodcock Pocket. Toot is very adventurous and likes to travel the world, sending Puddle postcards along the way. Puddle prefers to stay close to home. The stories of these two pigs are just too cute--and the illustrations are adorable.
My sister and I discovered our first Toot & Puddle book--by Holly Hobbie ... yes, THE Holly Hobbie--several years ago. And we've been hooked ever since. I believe her two girls have all of the Toot & Puddle books that have been published to date. Kate has many of them also, as do my brother's two girls. (They all are good, but my favorite is the original book, simply titled Toot & Puddle.) A Toot & Puddle Christmas special came out in recent years, and it was out on DVD last year. I searched high and low for it, and my sister snagged a copy of it for Kate at Wal-Mart. She was a little young for it, but she'll grow into it. ;o)
But that's not all, folks. There are Toot & Puddle dolls ... Christmas ornaments ... and more, I'm sure. In fact, Toot and Puddle accompanied Tanna and me to Paris a few years ago, and I have the pictures to prove it! (This was a big trip for Puddle, as he doesn't get away from home too often.)

Anyway, I was so excited to see that Toot & Puddle will be starring in their own show. Tune in when you get a chance!

since we are just getting acquainted, i HAVE to know why you have an obsession with all things PIG! i think toot & puddle are very cute, and the pictures of them in Paris were hilarious. but that still begs the question, and i think you ought to dedicate a post to letting all of us new readers in on the why behind the love of pigs.
ReplyDeleteKaren, thanks for reminding me about that show! I knew it was coming, but I completely forgot. Aili will love it b/c she adores Pigs.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I love that you can tell Tanna is holding the pigs in on of the pics. You've got a great guy! :)
ReplyDeleteohh can't wait! I love Noggin...I'll make sure to check it out! thanks!
ReplyDeletenever heard of them, but it sure sounds cute. chris was just giving me a hard time about my doll post. I don't feel so bad now. Love the photos of them in paris.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Jenn, the funny thing is ... I don't really have a love of pigs. It is complete coincidence that I wrote about Toot & Puddle when I have been writing about our Pink Pig excursions lately. Hahahaha! The Toot & Puddle stories are sooooo cute--we'd love them even if they were some other animal. I took them to France with us b/c I had an idea to do a funny thing with the dolls for my nieces--but I never got around to doing anything with the photos. The Pink Pig is just a lot of fun, and I love how it's an Atlanta holiday tradition. :o)
ReplyDeleteI love the Eiffel Tower picture!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, we don't have Noggin with our cable package.
:( I'll have to check out the books.
they live at wood what pocket? ha ha.
