Kate (and by "Kate" I mean "Tanna") put together a cool school bus the other day at a Lowe's Build and Grow workshop. I heard about the Lowe's Build and Grow Program while watching 11 Alive recently. (Thanks, Val!) Basically, Lowe's has these workshops for kids twice a month--and they are completely free! At each workshop, kids build a certain project. It's really for kids a little older than Kate, but when I saw that there was a school bus project coming up, I couldn't resist signing Kate up! Kate was able to help Tanna build the school bus a little bit--LOL!
All the kids get a cute apron to wear and some safety goggles. Kate loved the apron--she did not want to take it off, even after we got home--but she wanted nothing to do with the goggles. She sure had fun, though! It is a popular program, as there were a lot of participants. You do have to register in advance, and space is limited. I highly recommend checking it out!

Overview of the workshop area--this was early on. It got a lot more crowded.
Tanna discovered it was easier to work on the floor.
Outside with her bus (minus a couple of the accents) and her certificate. She also got a cute little patch for her apron. Thank you, Lowe's--what a fun activity! Kate loves her school bus, too!
Hi there! Just wanted to share how much I enjoy reading your blog. I ran across it when I was googling half-Korean babies, because I wanted to find pictures of what our baby might look like (she's due on Halloween). I'm also from Atlanta, and my immediate family still lives there (I moved to the PNW 8 years ago), so it's been a pleasure to see snapshots of my hometown.
ReplyDeleteHi! Thanks for commenting, and congratulations on your pregnancy! :o) One of my best friends lives near Seattle--we got to visit there a few years ago. It is such a pretty area! Best wishes with the rest of your pregnancy. :o)
