Whew. I am tired. We have been very, very busy--but I cannot complain. Except about the ants that have invaded our living quarters. But they will not be here long! I am a big believer in exterminators. And ant bait. And whatever it takes, people, whatever it takes.
In the interest of catching up (a little bit--not entirely), here is a quick recap of our week LAST week. A few highlights, if you will ...
Backing up to Saturday before last ... That evening, Tanna's brother, Mike, and his family arrived from California. We met them and Tanna's parents at the Golden Buddha restaurant (a family favorite for Chinese food) for a late dinner. It was a special dinner because we got to share our referral news with everyone!
Sunday morning @ Tanna's parents' church. I met everyone there a little later after teaching Sunday school at our church.
Lunch @ Cracker Barrel (or "The Crack," as we say in my family)
After lunch, it was time to hit the American Girl store @ North Point Mall. Kylie picked out a cute little husky dog (the same one our niece Abigail got for her birthday recently). :o)
The guys @ the American Girl store--LOL!
On Monday, Mike & Co. headed south to Disney World. That day was when Tanna and I had a meeting with Laura, our social worker, to go over our referral information and paperwork, etc. While we were at the adoption agency office, Kate went to her friend Jamie's house and had a blast as usual!
On Tuesday, Kate and I ran errands and did some shopping (bought some lamps and some new bedding--a good start on our long list of things for the house--as well as some gifts for her baby brother). Here she is all dressed and ready to go!
On Wednesday--St. Patrick's Day--Kate and I didn't really go anywhere, but we had plenty to keep us busy here at home, believe me! That evening, Tanna gave Kate's hair a little trim.
On Thursday, our neighbors invited us over for a play date! Here is Kate with her new friend, Julia. Kate continues to talk about her "new friend" (and that's a quote, folks). We are so excited to have nice neighbors who have children close in age. Yay!
Thursday night, I went out to dinner with some friends from my mom's group. Here I am with Mia and Myra. It was soooooo nice to have a GNO!
On Friday morning, Kate went to our church's drop-off nursery while I ran errands (including copying lots of adoption paperwork). It was a beautiful day!
That evening, we did some work in our backyard and unpacked some more boxes.
Mike, Darlene, Kylie and Eric (and Halmoni) arrived back from Florida Friday night. On Saturday, we met for lunch at Ted's in Buckhead.
I used to eat here a lot when I worked nearby. Yummy!
Cookies from Walt Disney World! YAY!

After lunch, the menfolk took the kids to the park. Darlene had some shopping to do, and I came home in case our furniture delivery was ahead of schedule. That afternoon, our furniture from The Dump arrived. LOL! It sounds so funny to say we got our furniture at The Dump, but we sure did! (The Dump is a new furniture store here in Atlanta.) It is so nice to finally have a table (or two) and some chairs. Not to mention a new bedroom set that I am loving. :o) YAY! Our sofa and love seat (purchased from Macy's at least a week and a half before The Dump stuff) are scheduled to arrive later THIS week--FINALLY--we can't wait!
sounds like an exciting week!!! Glad you're settling in! I still don't understand why it takes so long for furniture to be delivered!
