Out like a lamb

What a month!

When March roared in, we hadn't even lived here 48 hours. And March really did come in like a lion--it snowed (again) on March 2. I remember because we got the carpets cleaned that day, and I was afraid we'd have to reschedule due to the weather. (I should have taken a picture, but I didn't.) Today, as the month came to a close, the weather was gorgeous. I snapped the above photo of one of the trees next to our house this afternoon. They look so pretty.

In the last month, I have been sick twice. (I have been sick again this week and am finally starting to get over this cold.) Kate and I spent about a week in Tennessee (still need to blog about that). We had lots of fun family adventures with Tanna's family while his brother and company were in town. We sprang forward. Bought new furniture. Discovered we had ants and roof rats (GROSS! More to come on this!). Numerous and various people have been here--from the cable guy to a locksmith to the carpet cleaner to delivery folks, you name it. Many boxes have been unpacked--and we have many more to go. Oh, and the best part about March 2010? We received our referral for our baby boy! We are so thankful.

What a month it's been! I'm exhausted ... but looking forward to April. Bring it on!

  1. Hey Karen, we had roof rats in our basement when we moved in! We hired Massey and they set traps inside and outside and come and check them regularly and if you think there's a fresh catch, they'll come out and remove and reset the trap at no cost. You just pay an annual service fee and it covers rodents and other regular extermination and termite prevention. I'd be happy to give you their info if you're interested! No fun!

  2. Thanks, Jane--we actually are having our roof line sealed tomorrow my May Day. They also are setting traps and will be checking them, etc. (So disgusting!) I had never even heard of roof rats (or tree rats) before. Ugh!
