About me ...

It's time for another survey ... kind of. So the other day I was tagged by Joanna for a meme. Basically, the assignment entails writing three random things about myself and then tagging five other people to do the same.

OK--here are three random things about me:

1. In college, I majored in communications (with a concentration in journalism) and minored in apparel merchandising because I wanted to write for a big fashion magazine. And actually ... some of my fashion classes were a lot harder than my journalism classes. Also ... I went to graduate school to get a master's degree in education--but I dropped out after a month or two.

2. I can keep a mean scorebook for baseball or softball. I played softball for a couple of years in high school--but only because playing sports is what you did in my family growing up. And because my sister was on the team. But I was not an all-star player like her ... so I sat the bench and kept the book. I actually kind of dreaded it when I had to play. LOL! Our coach usually had to tell me to mark an error in the book--because even if I knew someone had made an error, I always felt bad about writing it down.

3. When I was in labor (and before my epidural), the pain was so intense I didn't know if I could take it. To help myself get through it, I started thinking about others who had endured things a million times more painful. I thought of Job from the Bible ... the Jews during the Holocaust ... and Christ on the cross. It did help to put my own meager pain in perspective. Yes, we did take a childbirth class, but I don't know if I ever really used any of those pain-management techniques. I loved the anesthesiologist. He became my new BFF. (If only I could remember his name ...) When we got the anesthesiologist bill a few weeks later, I paid it right away. It was worth every penny! Oh, and I was sure to tell my BIL (who is an anesthesiologist) how much respect I had for him and his profession.

Now it's your turn! I am tagging a few extra people: Tanna, Anne, Luann, Paula, Jennifer, Karen, Angela, Kristie, Kristin, and Tara.

Here are the rules:
  1. Post three random things about yourself.
  2. In your post, link to the person who tagged you.
  3. Tag at least five other bloggers.
  4. Let them know you've tagged them by commenting on their blog with an invite to participate.
