When we sang the hymn "Take My Life, and Let It Be Consecrated" in church this morning, the lyrics took on a new meaning for me. My eyes filled with tears as I started thinking of Kate, and how I pray that God will take her life and use it for His Glory.
Take her feet, and let them be
Swift and beautiful for Thee,
Swift and beautiful for Thee.
Take her voice, and let her sing,
Always, only, for our King.
Take her lips, and let them be
Filled with messages from Thee,
Filled with messages from Thee.

And my prayer for our family:
Take our lives, and let them be
Consecrated, Lord, to Thee.
Take our moments and our days;
Let them flow in ceaseless praise,
Let them flow in ceaseless praise.

"Take My Life, and Let It Be Consecrated" (another favorite of mine) was written by Frances Ridley Havergal in 1874. According to our church bulletin, she wrote the hymn "as she contemplated what it would mean to give every part of her life to God. Her friends said that she lived out every line of this song."
That was just beautiful! :) Now I'm singing that in my head! I love those pictures too of Baby Kate. She is such a big girl now! :)
