A 'Model' Baby!

So on Saturday, Kate had her first experience with modeling--well, for someone other than her Mommy, that is! What it was ... was ... she participated in a photo and video shoot featuring a new baby product--a huggable, lovable pacifier from Pacimals. Basically, Pacimals share the same kind of concept as Kate's purple frog paci--it's a pacifier that is attached to a stuffed animal. What makes the Pacimals product different is that the main pacifier part snaps off for easy cleaning--and the animals are a bit larger as well.

Here's how it all came about: I saw a post online regarding the need for babies to photograph and/or video for promotional materials for this new product. As you know, Kate is quite passionate about her pacis, and this sounded like it was right up her alley. Plus, the post said that we'd get free digital images from the professional photographer. (And you know me--I am a sucker for free photos!) I thought Kate might be too old to participate--as I think they were looking for younger babes--but it turned out to be OK. Our schedule worked out for the shoot, and so we were off!

It was a lot of fun! I got to meet some other moms who are members of one of the Mommy message boards that I frequent. And Kate did great! I kept her in her stroller until it was our turn to go. After all, a crawling, pulling-up, very curious 9-month-old loose in a photo studio with lots of props, expensive equipment, cords and such is probably not a good idea. Kate was photographed against a white background with the product--which she loved, by the way! At least, I hope they were able to get some good shots--Kate didn't want to sit still for very long. LOL! They also shot Kate holding a white board in case they can use that in creating their materials.

Kate was one of three babies there with her name! I am pretty sure she was the oldest baby there--definitely one of the oldest, anyway. She only did the white background--some of the younger babes also demonstrated the product in a car seat and in a bassinet. Everyone was very nice and pleasant, and we had a great time. I am looking forward to seeing the professional shots. Oh, and Kate gets a free Pacimals, too! As I said, she loved it--I just knew she would. Be on the lookout for these cool pacis! And who knows? Maybe you'll see a familiar face on the packaging one day--wouldn't that be neat? At any rate, we were glad to participate in the photo fun! Thanks, Pacimals!

  1. I love your pictures of the shoot! Norah never took a pacifier, but I like the idea of this thing. Thanks for sharing! And PS - is that picture you were looking for from your Celebrity Saturday post one that I might know about?
