I met Lisa Whelchel in 2002 at an NRB conference in Nashville. She was there promoting her book The Facts of Life and Other Lessons My Father Taught Me, and I was there promoting Samaritan's Purse/Operation Christmas Child. I was so excited to meet Blair ... I mean Lisa! My sibs and I **loved** watching "The Facts of Life" when we were growing up. Mrs. G, Tootie, Natalie, Jo and the whole gang--they were the best!
Lisa Whelchel was very nice, by the way. She apparently speaks at events around the country and will be in Griffin, Georgia, in a few weeks. Check it out on her Web site.
Don't you just love my glasses? I had scratched my eye--which, by the way, is VERY painful--and couldn't wear contacts for a while.
Sing with me, please:
When the world never seems ... to be living up to your dreams ...
And suddenly you're finding out ... the facts of life are all about yoooouuuu ...
Yoouuu-uuu-uuu-uuu-uuuuuuu
hey karen...you have met some really cool people in your career...very jealous about this one...I LOVED the facts of life...one of my all time fav. shows.
ReplyDeleteI think you look cute in your glasses :)
You do look cute in your glasses. You look very professional!
ReplyDeleteMy first thought after cool, loved that show, people use to think I was witty like Nat.....was. "wow, her roots are pretty dark, she needs a touch up". I feel bad for thinking this as I have heard she is really nice and a good speaker. You really did get to meet some cool peops! Oh, and now I am singing that song written by Alan Thicke... :-) Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
ReplyDeleteIn response to the comment you left for me on the Powerful Thoughts post, I had just been thinking that you hadn't commented me lately!
ReplyDelete"You take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and now you have the FOL" :) What memories! Love Blair! I wanted to look *just* like her growing up.HA!What a great show! Fun post!
