Fun with the McNeelys

Last week, Kate and I went to the zoo. Yes, again! We are regular zoologists. Hey--as Tanna would say ... we need to take advantage of the membership while we have it. Might as well use it, right? (Let us know if you want to go sometime--we get one adult guest and up to four kids (of the paying variety) in for free! That's zero dollars and nada cents, baby!)

ANYWAY ... we met Mariah and Sarah Kate there. Sarah Kate just turned 6 months old--although she was a few days shy of her half-birthday on zoo day. It was our first time to see SK, and we hadn't seen Mariah since her baby shower. It was blazing hot, but the babes didn't seem to mind. We caught up on each other's lives as we walked around the zoo before stopping so Kate could eat her lunch. It was air-conditioned in the restaurant, so it was a nice break.

On Sunday--Sarah Kate's actual half-birthday--she and her parents came over after church. I didn't realize until last week that they go to church close to where we live. They had a late-afternoon photo shoot here in the city (they live OTP*), and it didn't make sense for them to drive home after church and then turn around and drive back. So they came over for lunch and to visit. I make a mean Stouffer's lasagna--you would be so jealous of my mad cooking skills.

It was fun catching up with them, and we hope to do it again soon. Be sure to check out a few shots from their photo session on Lori's blog! They look fabulous!

*OTP=Outside The Perimeter (for the non-Atlanta peeps ... or for those ATL folks who may not know. I lived here for several months before I realized what the perimeter was and what ITP and OTP meant. Before then, I just acted like I knew what people were talking about--you know, like Joey on "Friends." LOL!)
