Happy Birthday, Aunt Cindy!

The Birthday Sisters
This was taken not long before Cindy moved to Spain

It's my sister Cindy's birthday today! I won't reveal her age, but she is almost exactly five years older than me. ;o) Growing up, our birthdays were always during a very busy week--the week of school starting, the fair, the race, and other various events. I wish we could celebrate our birthdays together--but Cindy and her family live across the Atlantic in Spain. They are missionaries there, and we miss them so much! But we know that they are following God's call and serving the Lord, so we can't complain too much.

Cindy is one of the sweetest, most humble women you will ever meet. She has a true heart for the Lord, and it shows. She is a very loving wife to hubby Joe and an awesome mother to her eight cool kids! Yes, EIGHT! See? I told you--she is a remarkable woman! I had the great opportunity to live with Cindy and her family for several weeks when I first moved to Knoxville and hadn't found an apartment yet--they welcomed me with open arms. Speaking of "Open Arms," remember that Journey song? There's a song that makes me think of the birthday girl. Oh, and whenever I hear a song from Janet Jackson's "Control" album, I think of Cindy driving around in her little white Honda (her high school car). LOL! Talk about a blast from the past!

We can't wait to see Cindy later this year when she will be visiting the States--can't WAIT. Until then ... HAPPY BIRTHDAY! We love you and miss you so much! BLY!

Wow--almost 20 years ago!

Cindy is so creative and sends out great cards and family updates.
This is part of their family Christmas greeting from a few years back.
