Happy National Shoe Box Collection Week, Everyone!
In honor of this special week, I thought I would share with you a few pages from one of my Operation Christmas Child scrapbooks. Believe it or not, this is just sampling of pages from one of my OCC scrapbooks. I didn't want to overwhelm you by posting each and every page. hahaha! I'll try to post some more later this week. Enjoy!
1999--sorry I left the page protector on a few of these snapshots. But you get the general idea. I have tried to save an OCC brochure from each year that I have participated, although I don't know if I have one from 1998.
A few photos from OCC distributions in Kosovo--also 1999
2000--This is the year I was a Relay Center Coordinator in Tennessee. I also had some friends and family over at my apartment to help pack shoe boxes. Fun times!
Here is an example of a letter I wrote to include in my shoe boxes.
2001--Packing party at my place in North Carolina
Also 2001--shoe box send-off and press conference in New York
2002--Another packing party. This one is in Charlotte, where I lived at the time.
Sorry this one is so blurry.
More Charlotte packing party fun!
2003--OCC distribution in a Mexico garbage dump. Yes, people live there.
OCC Season 2003
Our 2003 shoe box letter--Merry Christmas!
It's not too late to fill a box for a child this year. National Collection Week runs through Monday, November 24. For more information on how you can participate, click here.
What an amazing ministry. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeletewow karen...this is amazing..what an awesome thing to do for all those less fortunate than us.
ReplyDeleteYou're good, Karen, you're good! I loved seeing the Molsknesses and Karen M. on your scrapbook pages.
ReplyDeleteAt our wedding (even though it was in Sept.), we asked our guests to bring packed shoeboxes in lieu of gifts. I think people thought we were crazy but it was special and fun for us!
These are great! Thanks for reminding us to get our boxes filled! What an amazing thing you have done over the years. wow.
ReplyDeletebly!
Hannah! I love that idea for wedding gifts--how special and generous. LOVE IT!! Did you see some other familiar faces on those pages? Let's see ... there's Dolly, Suzanne, Nancy and a few others you might recognize, too. :o)
