Celebrity Saturday--Carrot Top

This photo was taken in 1994 in good ol' Nashville, Tennessee! I was there for an SPJ convention, and guess who happened to be staying in our hotel!? He was checking out when my friend Kristi and I were passing through the lobby! And you know: 1. I almost always have a camera with me ... and ... B) I'm not shy when it comes to asking for a photo!

Come to think of it, this was not my only encounter with Carrot Top. When he did a show at ETSU back in the day (as in ... when I went there), I remember shouting "Dollywood" from the audience when he said something on stage. Maybe he was talking about amusement parks or something--I can't remember. Anyway, he stopped to ask what Dollywood was, and was amused. As I recall, he made a joke about roller coasters with some funny/curvy arm movements. LOL! He is so funny! I also interviewed him a few years later when I was covering entertainment for a newspaper in Tennessee.
