I posted this as my Facebook status, but I have to record it here, too.
THEY SEE HIS PICTURE!
What does this mean? Well, I am glad you asked!
The State Department's Visa Services sees Isaac's photo in the system, which means he has made his embassy appearance in Seoul. WHOOO-HOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I was in Babies R Us earlier today when I thought I would call and check in with DC. The lady wasn't really chatty--she wasn't rude or anything, just not ultra forthcoming with information. She told me what I'd been hearing for a while now--that they are still waiting for the paperwork to be returned from the agency. Anyway, I thought we might have some activity today--especially since in Korea the business day is already over--so I was sure to ask some questions. What's the next step? Has the packet been returned? When will an interview be scheduled? When will he make an appearance? Do you see his picture?
Honestly, I don't remember the exact questions I asked--but I did have to ask, as the officer didn't just offer the information that she saw his photo. And I am glad I asked! She told me that Isaac made his embassy appearance today (July 15)--that's when his photo was taken. I think that is interesting because I took Kate to have her 3-year-old photos made this morning. I mean ... first they both have medical appointments on the same day ... and now the photo appointments! Too funny!
I did call back later today to talk to another visa information officer. This time, I didn't have to ask anything. "He is so cute!" she said after seeing his photo on her screen. And before I hung up: "He is a doll!" :o)
In other adoption news ... The P3 (packet 3, which is paperwork) has not been returned yet. When the P3 is returned (hopefully tomorrow), the visa interview will be scheduled. And that is the last step before travel plans!
I am so thrilled for you! As someone who goes through all the same visa stuff (albeit for my husband, not my son!) I know how stressful it is. I can't wait until he is here in your arms. Yay!!
