I love watermelon. It reminds me of growing up, of my Granddaddy, of eating watermelon--with salt on it--in his front yard ... and then throwing the rinds in his "slop pile." (I think that is what it was called. Or maybe I am making that part up.)
I love that watermelon is served as a dessert at many Korean restaurants. Though the servings are way too small IMO.
We cut a big watermelon on the Fourth this year. The top photo is of Kate and her four Tennessee cousins. The funny thing is ... most of them don't really like watermelon. Kate liked watermelon last year--but this year, she isn't really interested.

Speaking of Grammy ... here she is with Kate, who is wearing a watermelon dress/shirt. (She wore this as a dress last year, but this year she can wear it as a swing top.)
Also this summer, Kate has been wearing some of her watermelon outfits from Gymboree. I bought them on sale/clearance last year for her to wear this year.
