Kate's 15-Month Appointment

Yesterday was Kate's 15-month well visit to her pediatrician's office. She did great, despite getting three shots--the flu shot as well as her MMR and Varicella (chickenpox) immunizations. To help ease the pain, I gave her a little Tylenol before it was shot time. She slept on the way home and for a little while after we got back, but then she was pretty much herself for the rest of the day.

I felt bad because it turns out that Kate has had a mild virus--which would explain her loss of appetite and why she had been sleeping so much earlier this week. Her throat was red yesterday as well, so this was her pedi's conclusion. It had never even crossed my mind that she might be sick--I guess because she had been acting like herself (other than the appetite and sleeping differences). The good news is that she is not contaigous (no fever). But as of today, everything seems back to normal anyway.

We have a wonderful pediatrician. He is the best! I asked him to pose for a photo with Kate, and he was more than willing to do so. He even posed for a few more, trying to get her to smile (his idea). Thanks, Dr. G!

Here are Kate's 15-month stats:
Weight: 25 pounds, 8 ounces (85th percentile)
Head circumference: 18.25 inches (60th percentile)
Height: 33 inches (greater than 95th percentile ... or in other words ... off the charts! It was funny because the nurse measured her a second time just to be sure--although I think the first time she was a little taller. LOL!)

After we got home, I tried to get a few snaps, but--in true Kate fashion--she wasn't sitting still for very long. This is the best I could do ...
