I didn't want to spend a lot of money, so I thought I would pick up an outfit or an accessory for one of Kate's BAB dolls. She already has a groundhog and an elephant from BAB--not to mention her dolls and other stuffed animals from other sources--so I wasn't looking to add to her collection today. In fact, I had in my hand the CUTEST little turkey outfit for BAB animals to wear.
By the way, in case you didn't know, I have a thing for cute little turkeys. As in ... stuffed animal/toy turkeys. I have a small collection that kind of started as a joke, and each year at Thanksgiving my family takes a group photo with the turkeys. So I thought this outfit would be great for Kate's animals to wear for the upcoming holiday. I was headed to the register and ready to go when I saw ... it.
There was, on display at the check-out counter, a BAB turkey. It was in a special box, with a pilgrim's hat on his head. Who could resist such a thing? I actually had wondered if BAB might offer a turkey for the Thanksgiving season (they often have a promotional animal during special seasons). But I did not see a turkey over by animal row.
So there's the turkey. I asked the BAB lady if it was available to purchase, and she asked me if I was a member of the Stuff Fur Stuff Club--which I am. (It is basically BAB's rewards program.) And because I am a card-carrying member, I was able to buy the turkey today--before it is available to the public. How cool is that? (Not a big deal, really, but I was excited because I don't get to BAB very often. It's quite a drive for us.)
Well, I also got "talked into" getting the pilgrim hat, the sound accessory, and the Thanksgiving shirt--and so I received the baby turkey for free. Not only was I able to use my coupon and gift certificate, but also I got another $5 certificate to use next month. Yay!
Here are some photos I took of Kate during the process ...
Here's Kate looking on as her turkey is about to get stuffed.
She did NOT like the stuffing machine once the loud sound started.
Once she calmed down, she had fun playing with the little hearts. She wasn't interested in them when it was time to pick one out for her turkey, but later she couldn't get enough!
We named her turkey Gobbles--it was all I could think of at the moment. Kate was pretty restless, and it was time for us to go. I realized later that Kate's Beanie Baby turkey shares the same name. Oh, well. It's a cute name for a cute turkey ... or two!
Gobble! Gobble!
haha...love that turkey and too funny kate got scared of the stuffing machine..poor thing. I like the name you picked out :)
