The New England Aquarium

Bobbie, Ezra, Kate & Karen

Last week, while we were in Boston, we visited the New England Aquarium! This was Kate's first aquarium visit. Yes, even though Atlanta is home to the world's largest aquarium, Kate has yet to visit it. Anyway, we were excited to visit Boston's aquarium--and to meet some new friends!

A little background: I posted on one of my favorite message boards about our trip to Boston and asked for suggestions of things to do. Tanna would be in meetings during the day, so I was looking for fun activities that would be family friendly. Lee Anne, a fellow message-board mom, responded and mentioned that she had a friend in Boston. Long story short, she put me in touch with that friend--Bobbie--who very graciously agreed to meet us and show us to the aquarium. She has a membership there, so we were able to get in free with her pass. Wasn't that sooooo sweet? I thought so, too! What a wonderful gesture of friendship and hospitality--all for a stranger! Lessons learned: There are good people in this world who do very nice and thoughtful things for others ... and the Internet is a wonderful resource.

We thoroughly enjoyed meeting Bobbie and her son, Ezra--what a cutie! The aquarium was great! My favorite was the penguin exhibit. Kate loved the little hands-on kiddie area with the starfish. She enjoyed splashing in the water and pitched a fit when I took her away. She was getting her clothes all wet and putting water in her mouth, so it was time to move on!

Here are a few more photos from our outing:

On the way there, Kate took her first train ride.

Almost there!
