Portland with Uncle Dave & Aunt Phyllis

We met my Uncle Dave and Aunt Phyllis in Portland Wednesday morning. We exchanged the long-time-no-see joke because I actually saw my Uncle Dave last month at Nanny's birthday party. It's very rare for us to see each other twice in less than two months--but it sure is nice! I hadn't seen Aunt Phyllis in years--and she hadn't met Tanna or Kate before, so it was great for them to meet.

Uncle Dave and Aunt Phyllis live about an hour or so from Portland, and we were so glad they made the drive to meet us there. Our first stop was the Portland Head Light. I'd been there before, but Tanna hadn't. (Neither had Kate. ;o)) Then we ate lunch at DiMillo's Floating Restaurant. Tanna had been there, but I hadn't. (Of course, it was Kate's first time, too.)

Here are some pics from our time in Portland. The weather was just gorgeous, and the company was fantastic!

Portland Head Light--look at the blue sky. Thanks, God, for such a beautiful day.

Here's Kate touching the lighthouse.

Kate enjoyed running around the grounds. There are picnic tables and swings, etc., on the property--what a fun place to come for a picnic and to relax and enjoy the view.

David is my Dad's younger brother--he is the youngest sibling of the bunch.

I promise we did not plan the matchy-matchy thing. Tanna wasn't too keen on our coordinating outfits. LOL! I offered to change, but he said it was OK (probably because we were on vacation and I didn't bring an abundance of clothes). hahaha

Next stop: Lunch at DiMillo's Floating Restaurant. Uncle Dave keeps his boat nearby, so this was a great place to meet--and to eat! We had a terrific table right by a front window. The view was wonderful!

Tanna and his friend Mike actually ate here years ago. The two were on a cross-country journey and at the last minute decided to drive to Portland because they were so close--and because neither had been to Maine before. They wound up eating here.

Tanna's lunch--the Lazy Lobster. This is what Mike ordered when he and Tanna ate here 10 years ago. All this time, Tanna has been wishing he'd ordered the Lazy Lobster. Instead, he ordered some other lobster--lobster that he had to work for, of course. And while he was working, cracking, getting his lobster meat out, Mike was enjoying his dinner already. LOL!

The staff brought Kate a balloon--and she was on Cloud Nine! It was great entertainment after she finished eating.

Group shot before we go ...
Our time together was brief, but we sure enjoyed it!
Thanks for visiting with us! Hope to see you again soon!
