A Volunteer Opportunity and a Delightful Surprise

Catalyst is an awesome conference that takes place in the Atlanta area each year. Some big-time names--in the business field as well as the Christian community--speak at this event. Operation Christmas Child has had a booth at Catalyst for years--I worked the both several years ago, and I really enjoyed it. If it ever works out, I would love to attend this conference as a participant.

This year, Operation Christmas Child had the opportunity to place a shoe box under every seat in Gwinnett Center prior to today's meetings. I received an e-mail asking for volunteers to help make this happen. It sounded like a great opportunity to help out, so I agreed to do so. Plus, it was at night, so Tanna could watch Kate while I volunteered.

Well, little did I know that there was a huge group of people from Samaritan's Purse headquarters in Boone at Catalyst this year. Turns out, Franklin Graham spoke today, and Samaritan's Purse/Operation Christmas Child had a huge presence at the conference this year. Who knew? It was wonderful to see so many former colleagues from North Carolina--I had no idea any of them would be there! Plus, I got to meet some other Atlanta-area volunteers, too!

I didn't get photos of everyone--I know, slacking on the job--but here are a few ...

  1. Catalyst is a great experience. I was there this year. To think you may have been the one to put the box under my seat!
