14 Things About Kate @ 14 Months

OK, so Kate is actually 15 months old today ... and I meant to post this yesterday ... but better late than never, right? Here are 14 things about Kate at 14 months:

  1. She still loves her Little People school bus. I mean ... she LOVES it. If we are home, then she will be playing with it. It seems to be a popular toy. Her friend Amelia loved it so much that her Mommy bought one for her, too!

  2. She continues to hand all kinds of random things to people ... ALL THE TIME! It's hilarious. You'd think she would tire of this little game, but nope! She is constantly carrying this, that, and the other thing over to whomever is in the room with her. So funny!

  3. She outgrew just about all her pajamas at once! It's like they all fit one week--and the following week, they were too small. Good thing we already had a nice supply of PJs in size 18-24.

  4. She loves to take her shoes and socks off. Many times, she is walking around with her shoe straps undone--I guess because she didn't have time to remove them all the way. LOL!

  5. She likes to get a mouthful of water and then spit it out.

  6. She loves to sit in her pink Adirondack chair. Oh, and she also enjoys carrying random toys and books and things to the chair, and then she tries to hold them and climb in the chair at the same time. The logistics of such a feat can frustrate her, but she usually figures out a way to make it happen.

  7. She now knows the sign for "more." I tried the baby sign language a little bit, but I wasn't consistent with it. On our way home from Asheville last month, I was showing her the sign again, and it stuck.

  8. She is a great sleeper, and she finally outgrew her nighttime poop. (Sorry if TMI.) ;o)

  9. When she eats, she likes to make little piles of food. For example, she will make a little pile of Cheerios on the side of the highchair tray. Or she will pile up Shrimp Chips on the microwave cart (which sits next to her highchair). So funny!

  10. She likes to prop her feet up in her stroller. And speaking of ... she also likes to slide out of the stroller. This is why she stays buckled until we are ready to get her out.

  11. She plays this little game in her highchair. She puts her arms up in the air and wants you to do the same. Sometimes it's just one arm. (The photos are actually from when she was 13 months, but she was almost 14 months. She was playing her arm game with Halmoni at a Korean restaurant.)

  12. She loves to pull things off of the dining-room table.

  13. She likes to sit in the elevator.

  14. This one cracks us up all the time. We constantly find random toys in random places. For example, we might find a Little People person down in her ball bopper toy. Or a car in the gumball machine. Or an animal in the piggy bank. (You get the idea.) And there is no telling what you might find under the school bus seat! She puts anything and everything in that little compartment. LOL! She loves to try to make things fit into all these little hiding spaces. So cute!
And a few more to grow on ...

  • She loves to go, go, go--and go some more! She does not sit still for very long at all!
  • She still loves bath time.
  • We can now get a hairbow to stay in for a little while if she is distracted while it's being put in.
  • She still hates to have her nose cleaned.
  • She loves getting tickled by her Ah-Pah when he gets home from work.
  • She loves lift-the-flap books, but she also can destroy one in about five minutes.
  • Some more of her favorite toys and things: Gymboree cupcake hairbow (this is actually a ponytail holder for older girls, but she loves to carry it around), pacis, balls, piggy bank with plastic coins, ball bopper, old-school Little People cars, stacking blocks, Little People videos.
  • A few favorite foods: yogurt, applesauce, cheese toast, chicken nuggets, oatmeal, spaghetti-type toddler meal.
  • She makes us laugh every day.
    _______

The other day, when I was working on my list, I asked Tanna how he would describe Kate and he said she was:
  • fast
  • energetic
  • a tough girl*
  • a bundle of joy
  • fun to watch
*On the tough girl comment--she really is! I believe she got her first skinned knee @ 14 months. I didn't even realize it until later because usually when she falls down, she just gets right back up again. It's like she's more angry than sad and hurt--she just gets pissed off that falling slows her down. LOL!
_______

We love you, Kate--and there's nothing you can do about it!
Happy 15 Months, Baby Girl!
You'll always be our baby!

That is a great picture of the two of you at the end, Karen!

My Kate is the same way when she falls. She got her first skinned knee last month, blood and everything and didn't even flinch, just got up and kept going!
