For years--since Chick-fil-A first came out with calendars, I believe--my mother would get each of us one of these fine gifts for Christmas. Christmas just wasn't complete without it. It truly was the gift that kept on giving because each month featured valuable coupons for free CFA food. Yum.
A few years back, however, things went south. I don't know if CFA got greedy or what, but the coupons were no good. If I remember correctly, not much--if anything--was free. The coupons were cheap and crappy--like, buy a combo and get a free Sprite. Whatever. (I am really making up that example, but you get the idea.)
Even for a CFA fan such as myself, it was not worth it. Perhaps I had been spoiled by the great coupons of the past, but I refused to buy any of these yucky calendars. I discussed this with my mother and other family members. I even told a colleague of mine who was (and still is) married to a Truett family member to please pass the word along that the calendars were dead to me, thank you very much. I doubt he ever did, but you get the idea.
However, CFA has turned over a new leaf--or, perhaps, turned a new page--in its calendar history. The 2010 calendar is out, and it is well worth your investment! The coupons for next year are all for free items. Here is the rundown:
- January: Free Chick-fil-A chicken biscuit or free small bowl of hearty breast-of-chicken soup
- February: Free large Sprite
- March: Free Chick-N-Strips (3-count)
- April: Free medium freshly squeezed Chick-fil-A lemonade
- May: Free small hand-spun milkshake
- June: Free Dasani bottled water and free small fruit cup
- July: Free Chick-fil-A chicken-salad sandwich
- August: Free large Coca-Cola Zero
- September: Free Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich
- October: Free large Coca-Cola
- November: Free large Diet Coke
- December: Free Chick-N-Minis (3-count) or free large Waffle Potato Fries
This year's theme, "Great Works of Cow Literature: The Pen Is Mightier than the Spatula," is a hit with this journalism major as well. AND--here is a great deal--if you purchase a $20 gift card, you will get a calendar for FREE! I have already purchased five of said gift cards. These are mostly for myself--yes, I will use them in less time than I care to admit. (I already have used up some of them.) I'll probably keep a calendar or two and give the rest to various peeps as Christmas gifts. What a deal! They have offered this promotion in years past, and it is one to keep an eye out for next year.
Thanks, now I'm craving a CFA brownie! BTW, speaking of CFA, let's make a date for the aquarium & CFA lunch next week-Thursday or Friday?
