Christmas Ornaments: Day 1

Welcome to a new series for the month of December! Each day, I will highlight one or more of our Christmas ornaments and explain the story behind it/them. I actually wanted to do this last year after my sister suggested it--and have wanted to document the stories behind some of our ornaments for quite a while.

I'll start by explaining that I used to be reeeeeaallly into Christmas ornaments. Big time. So I have quite a few of them--even after giving a bunch away and selling some on eBay a few years back. Anyway, that's the short version of that story.

Onto today's ornament ...

This is one of this year's Hallmark Keepsake ornaments. I LOVE photo-holder ornaments! (Surprise, surprise, given how much I love pictures!) I bought this ornament a few months ago--it was one of my must-haves from Hallmark this year. I just put one of our Christmas photos (from our recent photo shoot with Jody Lynn Photography) in it today! Doesn't it go so well with the ornament? I don't know if you can tell, but Kate is holding a big candy cane decoration, which fits the sweets-themed ornament. I love how it turned out!

Kate and I just pulled out our Christmas tree and decorations today, so the tree is not quite ready yet. In fact, it currently looks like Christmas threw up all over the living room. Hopefully, in the next day or two, the tree will come together. It was fun looking through a lot of the ornaments earlier this evening. I can't wait to share some of them with you!

P.S. Sorry for the bad quality of the photo!

  1. This looks fun. How in the world are you going to choose just 31. I think you'll have to do some combo posts, unless you got rid of a LOT of them.
Love that ornament, and the pic.
Our living room had that Christmas illness a few days in a row. ;)

  2. I love this ornament. I'm a big fan of anything Gingerbread looking ornament. I love the idea of this post. Every year, I try to shop for half off ornaments the day after Christmas.
