Who doesn't love watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas each December? I like that this ornament has the Grinch in a big smile, obviously after his transformation. Just this week, Kate was introduced to the Grinch. When it aired on television the other night, I recorded some of it on the DVR, and she has asked to watch it a few times already. I didn't catch the whole program, but I did put the DVD on her Christmas wish list. At the end, when the citizens of Whoville come out singing and holding hands, she points and exclaims, "Charlie Brown!" I guess it reminds her of the end of the Peanuts Christmas program.
YODA! Yoda is awesome. Since we were kids, my brother has been a huge Star Wars fan. He even had Star Wars-themed sheets and a bedspread, etc., when we were little. Maybe they were really from The Empire Strikes Back, but it all runs together for me. He had *tons* of the action figures and other paraphernalia, including Yoda's house with the "quicksand" (LOVED that!) and At-At. Those were two of my faves. Seems like he got something Star Wars-themed for Christmas for several years.
Anyway, when Hallmark came out with a Yoda ornament a while back, it was another must-have. My brother has a bunch more of the Star Wars ornaments, but I think this is my only one--or the only one that made the cut after my big purge (which, by the way, I think needs to happen again). The funny thing? I am not a science fiction sort of person and don't know if I ever have sit through a whole Star Wars movie. LOL! But I think Yoda is cool, and this brings back lots of memories from childhood.
Last year or the year before, I found a Christmas Yoda bobble head at Target on clearance (for, like, 75 or 90 percent off). I had to get it for my bro, and I was so happy to see it proudly displayed among their other holiday decor last weekend. ha!
I have that same Grinch, and I imagine we'll start a collection of Star Wars ornaments soon. Sean is all about it.
