Christmas Cards, Postmarks and the Post Office

I think I finally got all (or most) of our Christmas cards in the mail this week. I even managed to mail a few from LAST year that were returned to us. LOL! Here is a mailbox at the post office. The other ones were a little MORE full, if you can believe that! I remember them being this way last year, too. The other day, I waited in line about 45 minutes or so to mail a batch of cards and some packages. I actually love the post office and mail, etc., so most of the time, I don't mind the wait. It is sad to compare how things were just a few years ago, though. This particular post office used to have almost every window open--the other evening, there was only one window open for the longest time. Everyone was so happy when another line opened up. Also, there used to be Sunday hours during the holiday season--but no such thing this year. That doesn't bother me, of course--just noticing the difference. It is fun to go to the 24-hour post office down near the airport. One year, I mailed Christmas cards from there. I think it would be fun to mail cards from one of the places with a Christmasy name for the fun postmark. Maybe I will do that sometime if I can ever get my act together in time. LOL! This is a long, rambling paragraph. Merry Christmas!

Tanna and I actually have been to Santa Claus, Indiana! I mailed a few things from the post office there, too. No Christmas cards, though.

  1. We've been to Santa Claus, IN lots of times! It's only about an hour from here and we love the Holiday World (used to be called Santa Claus Land!) amusement park. Anyway, I have known lots of people who drive up there to mail their Christmas cards. Not me though...I've never quite had the time!

  2. I still need to mail my cards. What else would you expect from someone who didn't decorate until Saturday? LOL
