We spent Christmas of 2006 with Tanna's family at Newport Beach in California. We decided to drive to the Crystal Cathedral to attend Christmas Eve services with Tanna's parents and with Darlene, our sister-in-law. (We didn't bring the kids, so other family members stayed behind to help take care of them.) It was quite an experience. The service was beautiful, but I don't think any of us were prepared for how crowded it would be. Due to crowd control, we had to wait for quite some time before we were allowed to enter the building. If I remember correctly, we were assigned to one of many services and received tickets to allow us to enter at that time.
It was a gorgeous time of worship in a gorgeous setting. Afterward, attendees were given these little ornaments of the Christ Child in the manger. They had tons of them, packaged in white boxes. We were able to get some extras to take back to family members who couldn't attend. I was even able to get some for my family back home. I wrote on the bottom of the ornament where it was from.
This ornament brings back special memories of that Christmas Eve service and that holiday season. The next day is when we told our families that we were expecting a baby--Baby Kate!

Tanna and me--you can see a couple of white ornament boxes on the ground by our feet.

Ours is near the top of our tree! And I remember getting our phone call the next day! :)

What a nice way to always remember the family hearing about Kate! That ornament is awfully nice for a giveaway. It almost makes you want to see what they give out every year and start a collection :)
