I went to another book club meeting last week. Here we all are as the very important meeting is about to adjourn. Don't we look distinguished and intellectual? Do you like how I am holding the book that I didn't read? That makes two. Didn't read the last book, either (or make it to the last meeting). But hey--at least I managed to get both of the books at the library. I still need to take this one back, though.
We met at a delightful spot called tahCha Tea House on Chamblee-Tucker. I am not a big tea drinker (unless it's sweet tea from CFA ... or Pal's (for you Tri-Cities folks)), but this place is really neat and offers a nice selection of sweets and treats (in addition to a vast array of teas). I ate a delicious chocolate-chip cookie that was very reasonably priced. I would have ordered more if I hadn't just eaten dinner before our meeting. Anyway ... if you're in the area, check it out. It's in the same shopping center as Big Lots as well as a well-known ATL night spot, the name of which escapes me at the moment.
While I don't always have a lot to contribute to the conversation (obviously, if I didn't read the book), I enjoy getting together with these ladies. The chats quickly and easily flow from book-related topics to various other subjects about life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Lots of laughter ensues, which is good for the soul. It's nice to get out once in a while. :o)
