Date Night: It's A Wonderful Life

Date night! Tanna and I went to a dinner-theatre performance of "It's A Wonderful Life" last night. I had been looking forward to this for a while. I called just a few days after tickets went on sale, and all that was left were a few tickets to the Wednesday-night show and perhaps a few to a weekend matinee. I can't remember exactly, but the pickin's were slim. And our seats showed it. LOL! That goes to show how popular these dinner theatres at First Baptist Atlanta are!

Sooooo ... basically ... the evening didn't exactly go as planned. We got there late. When we realized they had run out of chicken, I may have gotten tears in my eyes. (Yes, I am embarrassed to admit it, but it is the truth. I hate having food issues sometimes!) Our seats were in the very back by some door that people kept coming in and out of, and I was freezing. But it wasn't that bad. I went to inquire about getting a candy bar at the concession stand (because I am not a fish person, and that was the other selection), and this guy (who apparently is the head kitchen guy) went to fetch me a Snickers bar. That was the best Snickers bar I've had in a long time. LOL! I tried to find him later, but I didn't see him. I did pass along a message of gratitude via a church lady. I hope he got it.

Anyway, the performance was outstanding! I really liked IAWL as a musical. We ended up leaving at intermission because it was getting late, but we enjoyed the first half of the production very much. Maybe next time we will be able to stay for the whole thing. I recognized the guy who did our premarital counseling as Mr. Martini! LOL! I thought he looked familiar. Great job, everyone! BRAVO!

Getting ready to leave ...

I took a few photos. I know they're really bad, but you get the idea. They actually turned out better than I thought they would, seeing as they were taken from the very back with no flash, etc. The sign in this picture reads "Welcome to Bedford Falls."

The school-dance scene

The last scene we saw before we left--this is George and Mary Bailey. Funny story: I didn't realize the red-eye reduction setting was still on and apparently was projecting a red light on the photo subjects. Tanna tried to tell me, but it was too late. Oooops--sorry about that!

  1. Tanna looks genuinely happy in this pic! I guess spending a night with the mrs really agreed with him :) I'm glad you got some couple time.
